Oven Fries


I love french fries and was craving them the other day and decided to make oven fries. Making double fried fries is a lot of work, a huge mess, and they are so bad for you! This is a super easy recipe and can be done with russet or red potatoes. I just love a crispy golden fry, and this is the recipe to take care of that craving!

Oven Fries

2 Large Russet Potatoes
Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper
Herbs de Provence

Pre-heat a large baking sheet in a 400 degree oven. Cut the potatoes into large fry sized pieces, leaving the skin on. Toss with a generous amount of olive oil, salt & pepper, and herbs de Provence. Arrange fries on the pre-heated baking sheet and bake until just tender turning half way through, about 30 minutes total. Turn on broiler and roast fries until golden brown and crisp, turning often.

  2. Oven fries are the perfect potato side dish without having to deal with a ton of excess oil.

    I always toss paprika and crp but never tried herbs de provence in them. Going to have to remedy that.

  3. I prefer oven fries over the fried version, and it is a lot neater! They come out just as crispy too :), like these -- they look great!

  5. In England we call fries, chips, and I do like the twice fried artery clogging version. I don't eat them often - all things in moderation - but I will try these oven chips and let you know my verdict. :-)

  6. I love oven fries and these look extra good. Sometimes there is a tendency to cover them with too many spices like paprika etc etc and the flavor of the potato is lost. These look good with just the herbs. Nice job.
